Design And Project Management
Creative Design Management
You may have already discovered in another part of the website, about my passion for harnessing the creative ideas of young designers (through design education and collaboration projects) and helping them focus their ideas and channel their energy and thinking process in the right direction to produce the best designs possible.
I have managed creative projects worldwide and have earned the reputation of being committed, motivated, thought provoking and fun to work with.
If your company requires a new face to run a project, be it a short creative workshop or a longer program, then please contact me to discuss.
Production Design Management
I have both OEM and Supplier experience in this role, and through this experience, understanding of each party's needs, and human skills, I am able to motivate all the parties to work together.
Each project is different and the level of feasibility when they arrive in a production studio also varies. It is at this stage that changes for cost or production reasons are requested which have knock-on effects for the Styling.
As Designers always want to improve and tweak their creations, it takes diplomacy, experience and skill to convince them when to stop.
Validations And Sign-Offs
Be it validating milled 1:1 models for surface and highlight quality (with photographic detailed documentation of the areas to be reworked) or signing A-class surfacing files, I have a trained eye that can pick up often missed problem areas.
I am also experienced in signing off tooling as well as validating first parts before the tooling is grained.
With experience in Perceived Quality and establishing gap and flush objectives, I can also help in anticipating future problems due to manufacturing methods and material behaviour.
I am available as an independent “eye” to give feedback and critique during your design process.
This can be at any stage of the project, from initial sketch reviews, through to surface evaluation of styling models and CAD files, as well as anticipating potential problem areas for when the styling model gets developed into a production vehicle.
It is absolutely not EMD's goal to take ownership of your design or gratuitously critique your styling intent, but to add an experienced eye and help identify potential problem areas, asking pertinent questions, to help you guarantee the best possible result.
Consultation is charged on a daily rate plus expenses.
